Ridgefield High School's Aja Gerrity grew tired of people not taking her seriously. That’s when she was MADE by MTV into a serious forensic competitor.
Aja answered a casting call at her high school in Ridgefield, Washington for MADE. She was selected out of a pool of applicants for the reality show, which helps subjects pursue a dream with the help of a life coach – all the while being documented by television cameras. In Aja’s case, she aspired to become a true intellectual and decided that her school's speech and debate team provided the perfect opportunity to make it happen. With the help of her life coach, as well as Ridgefield High School Coach Ken Bisbee, she went on to compete in interpretation and debate events. Aja successfully transitioned from forensic novice to, as she puts it, "a hardcore debater,"winning a number of local events. She plans to continue competing for the Spudder Speech team. 'Aja’s story aired on MTV's MADE on Saturday, March 8.
