Joy of Tournaments is absolutely free to use web registration and software for your district tournament. Plus, free support is provided to all districts using Joy of Tournaments. This is a value of well over $250!
Plus, it vastly cuts time spent on reporting paperwork. No more yellow sheets, plugging in points in the the NFL points Web site, or sending reams of paper to the NFL office. Send your data file to Jackie, and your qualifiers will be able to register sooner, and your district points will be entered.
Finally, it's a great way to audit your tournament and ensure that rules are being followed properly as well as add a layer of transparency to your tournament. Several districts continue to use physical cards to pair the tournament and assign judges but input that information into the software. With the software, warnings appear on-screen when pairings are incorrect and round results can easily be printed and posted for audit.
NFL and Joy of Tournaments staff are offering free, online training sessions to interested district chairs and committee members. To participate, you only need a computer (connected to the Internet) and a phone line (long distance charges may apply), or you may use a headset and microphone instead.
Coaches can now print their school entry forms (also known as “green sheets”) right from the Joy of Tournaments registration website, when they complete their entry. This now includes Congressional Debate as well!

It is required that you use the website for registration for your NFL District Tournament. The website will check that the entries into the tournament are limited to active NFL members and will limit schools to the number of entries they are allowed based on their members and degrees. The website will also save you a considerable amount of data entry necessary to key in the names of students participating.
If you use the website for registration, you'll have a link labeled 'Administration' available to you. From your 'Administration' link, select 'Software Download' from the left-hand menu. This page contains all of the information you'll need for downloading and installing the software.
To use the tab software, you'll initially need to download and install the 'trial' version of the software. Instructions for doing so are located here.
Once you have the 'trial' version installed, you may obtain access to the full version with the presence of an authorization key. Your 'Software Download' page will have all of the information necessary for completing this step (if you are using the website for registration). If you are not using the website, support will email you this information.
Once you have installed the software and have the key entered, you may begin working with the software. Refer to the guides listed near the top of this page for tasks BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER the NFL District tournament.
In order to use the software, you will need to make entries for the students competing in each of the events. Instructions are provided in the BEFORE the tournament document for doing so, but you may prefer to use the following file which already has test data available for you. Right click on the file below and select "Save target as". Select a location on your computer to save the file (somewhere you'll know where the file is for the next step). Inside the tab software, go to the "File" menu and select "Import Website Entries". Click on the radio button labeled "load from disk" and then browse to locate the file you've saved on your computer. This will allow you to "simulate" the process of importing the entries from an imaginary website.
If you would like to practice using the software and do not yet have entries, sample data is included in your trial package. For additional information, visit: http://joyoftournaments.com/trial/sample-data.htm
