Congratulations! You have just made the decision to join the National Forensic League, the nation’s oldest and largest debate and speech honor society. You are following in the footsteps of many prominent educators, politicians, business leaders, journalists, and entertainers before you. This journey will test your skills and broaden your horizons – and ultimately shape the way you view and interact with the world around you.

Below you will find a list of forms and information including our application for membership. Please download these documents by clicking on the links listed below.

If you are a new school who has never been a member of the NFL, simply fill out and return the Application for Membership with the $99.00 membership fee. The signature of your high school principal is required to complete the membership application.

Student Membership: When a student reaches 25 points (at least 10 in Interscholastic competition--debate and/or speech and/or Congress) there is a $15 (one time only)membership fee. Schools will be billed for new students registering new members online. Schools who register new members by mail will need to include a blue membership application signed by both principal and coach and include a $15 fee per student.

Also available to new schools is a FREE 10 minute video starring Jane Pauley and Oprah Winfrey. Ms. Pauley, Ms. Winfrey and others examine the effect that high school speech and debate team participation had on their lives and the lives of others.

Below are forms for current NFL members to renew their affiliate membership, renew their chapter membership, or apply to become a chapter. New NFL affiliates do not need to complete these forms.
